The DMSc is a 36-credit-hour, post-professional doctoral degree at Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences designed for licensed and practicing physician assistants who want to advance into leadership, clinical innovation, healthcare administration, education, or industry roles. The program prepares graduates to lead interprofessional teams, influence healthcare policy, teach future providers, and drive meaningful change across healthcare systems.

Applicants must be licensed and nationally certified physician assistants with a master’s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited program and at least three years of clinical experience. A minimum 3.0 graduate GPA is required. Additional materials include two professional letters of recommendation, a 500–1,000 word personal statement, a current CV or résumé, official transcripts, and a possible virtual interview.

The DMSc is delivered 100 % online in an asynchronous format, providing flexibility for working physician assistants. The program consists of 36 credit hours (12 credit hours maybe transferred from an ARC-PA accredited program), including a core curriculum, one three-course concentration track, and a doctoral project sequence. Students can complete the program while continuing full-time clinical practice.

Students select one of three focused tracks: Clinical Leadership, Education and Academic Medicine, or Clinical Research and Medical Science Liaison. Each track is designed to deepen expertise and support career advancement in clinical practice, academia, administration, or healthcare industry settings.

The DMSc application will open in June 2026. Classes for the inaugural cohort will begin in January 2027. Applicants are encouraged to prepare materials early, including transcripts, recommendations, and personal statements, as additional admissions details and deadlines will be shared through official program communications.
