About the Center

The Pharmaceutical Education & Research Center (PERC) provides Campbell University students majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences an extensive hands-on, laboratory-based education with a graduate-level innovative and challenging research experience utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and analytical instrumentation. This applied knowledge prepares the students as a well-trained future workforce for the pharmaceutical industry.

PERC’s experienced faculty and staff offer a variety of high-quality and timely services focused on pre-formulation, preclinical analytical research, and small-scale manufacturing. Paul Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in medicinal and analytical chemistry. He worked in Pharmaceutical and Analytical Development in the pharmaceutical industry for 16 years and has extensive experience with HPLC method development and Preformulation/API characterization.

Scott Staton has more than 33 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development. He has extensive history in sterile formulation development, semi-solid & solid-dosage formulations, and novel drug delivery systems.

Shanesa Dixon has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare and in the pharmaceutical industry. She has extensive experience in HPLC instrumentation (content uniformity, assay/related substances, and dissolution). Shanesa has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
