Pharmacists As Clinical Teachers (PACT)

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences offers Pharmacists As Clinical Teachers (PACT), a residency teaching certificate training program, to outside institutions to help in the training of their residents.

PACT was established in 2016, but Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences has been providing residency education since 1990 and has trained and graduated over 140 residents in the areas of pharmacy practice, community practice, drug information, ambulatory care, geriatrics and infectious disease.

In 2012, the ACCP Task force on Residencies recommended that all residents have opportunities to learn about teaching methods as part of their overall training and that teaching certificate programs be affiliated with an academic institution. Campbell University has full-time faculty trained in pedagogy that are also clinicians and residency directors involved in residency teaching certificate program since 2006. Our faculty have trained residents that are associated with Duke, University of Kansas, University of Iowa, University of Mississippi, University of Michigan, University of Maryland at Eastern Shore, and multiple health center residency programs.
