The Teaching New Teachers (TNT) certificate program was designed to expose CPHS residents to teaching and to help them develop and improve their skills in this area. Residents complete the Pharmacists As Clinical Teachers (PACT) program consisting of two day-long seminars, attend TNT seminars, complete teaching assignments, and submit a teaching portfolio.
The program prepares pharmacy residents to teach a class to students. Opportunities are available in Nonprescription Therapeutics, Integrated Pharmacotherapeutics, Applied Drug Management, Pharmacy Practice Skills, and electives. Both PGY1 and PGY2 residents co-precept fourth-year PharmD students during the advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
The type and quantity of teaching varies with each residency, but all Campbell residency programs provide the amount teaching experience needed to complete the TNT program.

Requirements to complete certification
- Attend TNT Seminars
- Complete the following teaching assignments
- Prepare and present one presentation to students that is at least 45 minute
- Write test questions for one presentation
- Lead two case discussion sessions with pharmacy students
- Prepare and present a continuing education program which offers CME or ACPE credit
- Co-precept pharmacy clerkship student(s) for one month
- Complete the required teaching evaluations which include assessments by the preceptor or faculty
- Complete an online teaching portfolio which includes the following
- List of teaching activities
- Philosophy of teaching statement
- Materials for each teaching session
- Documentation of clerkship teaching
- Documentation of any other courses to improve your instructional ability
